I Quit My 9 to 5 Almost a Year Ago
I don’t have many regrets in my life or if any at all. I have always somewhat played life safe. I went to school, got decent grades, landed a corporate job after college, even got married and had a child.
Nothing is wrong with any of that. I wouldn’t change a thing. However, I never felt like I could enjoy life to my fullest with having my 9 to 5 job. Which in reality was an 8:30am to 5:30pm and add a commute time of about an hour or so and I was gone from 7:30am to 6:30pm each day Monday through Friday. I got tired just typing that. 11 hours a day I was gone and I was only getting paid for 8 hours.
Most importantly, I was doing something I wasn't passionate about.
So over many years and many jobs later trying to find fulfillment, I decided to just quit the corporate grind and “figure it out”. I received my teaching certification through the International TEFL Academy in Chicago, in February, 2017. Ideally, I wanted to travel the world teaching English and moving from place to place. I am not saying, I won’t still do that, but with a husband and 4-year-old, things change a bit and my mentality became or has become more living a “location independent” lifestyle. I want the freedom to travel and work from anywhere in the world. As long as my computer gets WIFI, I should be able to do anything.
So fast forward, almost a year later. I spent my savings (wisely I might add) on things for myself. I invested in myself.
I went on trips. I traveled to Nicaragua to learn Spanish, I took my 3-year-old to Toronto, Canada on an 11 hour road trip #girlstrip. I booked a month long Euro Trip where we went to Copenhagen, Denmark, Malmö Sweden, Dubrovnik, Croatia and then traveled all over Italy for 2 weeks. I even decided to visit a friend in Rhode Island/Massachusetts. I had an excellent year of adventuring!
I bought blog courses so I can learn more about how to expand my brand.
I become TEFL certified and got a job teaching English online. I can now work from anywhere in the world!
I became a Reiki Practitioner.
I am learning another language.
I read a ton of books both for business and pleasure.
Lastly, I am taking a course to become a life coach. #soexcited
I feel like I'm finally in alignment.
I FOUND MY TRUE SELF!
I want to help other women who are just like me build online empires and live a life they deserve. I want to use my spirituality and healing practice to bring positive loving energy back into your life.
I don’t live in fear anymore.
Society will not hold me back and I will prosper and rise above to create the life I desire. You can do this too!
What is stopping you?
